This book is an out come of technical materials collected from the ICAR-sponsored short course on “Appraisal of Fish Health with Focus on Understanding Zoonosis Associated with Aquaculture” conducted on 3rd -12th Feburary 2026 by the Department of Veterinary Pathology, College of Veterinary Science and AH, Jabalpur, Nanaji Deshmukh Veterinary Science University, Jabalpur, M.P.-482001.This book introduced to the core principles of fish health assessment, disease surveillance, environmental monitoring, and farm-level biosecurity. Strong emphasis is placed on practical sessions covering both classical and advanced diagnostic techniques, including microbiology, histopathology, serology, and modern molecular tools. Special attention is given to the identification of zoonotic agents, understanding their routes of transmission, and applying the “One Health” approach to reduce health risks across the aquaculture value chain, from production to consumption.
