This book contains the outcome of research work done by the team of scientists during last 25 years (1994-2018) at All India Coordinated Research Project for Dryland Agriculture, Phulbani, Odisha under the aegis of Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology, Bhubaneswar. The centre has generated valuable technologies for increasing and stabilizing agricultural production in rainfed areas of the state. An array of innovations have been neatly arranged under the theme areas like soil and water conservation engineering, cropping systems, integrated nutrient management, crop improvement and alternate land use system. The authors have compiled all such appropriate technologies in shape of the publication. The publication will be useful for teachers, scientists, extension specialists, students, planners and field level workers for understanding the rainfed agriculture scenario in Odisha and adoption of rainfed technologies in the field.
