Description
Coorg mandarin is a famous ecotype of mandarin grown in the Coorg region since more than 200 years. Initially it was grown as sole crops later on it become a component of coffee based cropping system of the region and the cultivation of Coorg mandarin spread in other parts of Western Ghats . It area and production of Coorg mandarin was at peak in 1960 and decreased later with all time low in year 2000. Thereafter there is gradual increase in the area and production of Coorg mandarin due efforts of various government agencies and farmers. A lot of works has been carried out on various aspects of Coorg mandarin. The information on various aspects of Coorg mandarin has been summarized in this book.
