Advances in Breeding for Major Field Crops

Objective of this book is to provide insight into advances in improvement major field crops. The book includes total of seven chapters viz., cereal crops, fiber crops, legume crops, millet crops, oilseed crops, pulse crops and vegetable crops. Each crop includes its introduction, mode of origin and phylogenetic relationship, floral biology, selfing and crossing techniques, breeding objectives, genetic resources and their utilization, genetics of quantitative and qualitative traits, conventional and other approaches, biotechnological research, breeding objectives, national and international research station etc.
