The goal of compiling this book was to provide all engineering students with a working knowledge of the significant elements of civil construction, materials used in civil engineering, including the source of raw materials, their properties, the manufacturing process, their defects, structure, and uses in the industry, as well as the fundamentals of surveying and levelling and several other significant topics in civil engineering in a systematic manner. The principles of surveying are presented in an accessible manner in this book, making it simple for a beginner to understand. Modern tools including total stations, GPS, and digital levels are discussed in the fundamental surveying topics, reflecting contemporary field practices.
