Social Media Analytics in Disaster Management

Analytics from social media are increasingly important for managing natural disasters. Although though social media data contains a wide range of metadata elements, four dimensions—namely, place, time, content, and network—have received special attention for information mining that might help with situational awareness and disaster response. This BOOK reviews the methods used to assess these four aspects in research.
