Gastroenterits is a preventable and curable condition that affects people all over the world. Although it is self limiting in most of the cases, it may lead to significant morbidity and mortality in young and old patients. Rotavirus is the most common cause of gastroenteritis in children less than 5 years of age. This book briefly describes rotavirus, vaccines available against it and data compiled on the basis of studies conducted so far globally so as to provide an insight into the causative agent of one of the commonest illness prevalent worldwide.
