The nomadic and denotified tribes (DTNT) in India are isolated and educationally backward along with being socially stigmatised and octrasized by the mainstream communities in India.Having been branded as criminals the denotified tribes faced the highest challenges of community living, having to face suspicion and derelict living. Their educational status is the biggest challenge for the government and the mainstream society of India. The DTNTs have been undertaking basic activities for survival including food searching, agriculture, hunting, trading, manufacturing, service giving and entertainment. Since their very daily survival is a challenge, education is still a distant goal. Even then with government efforts they are slowly being brought into the educational process. But they face problems of poor attendance, high wastage, inferiority complex, stagnation, drop-outs, and an educational curriculum which is completely at variance to their socio-cultural and educational needs. This book recommends best practices for a suitable and enriching educational experience for the DTNTs. This book shall be useful for academicians, research students and policy makers.
