Description
This book provides an in-depth taxonomic study of the superfamily Apoidea in the regions of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, and Ladakh. The Apoidea superfamily, which includes nine families, is primarily composed of bees and sphecoid wasps, with the Apidae family being the most diverse. These insects play a crucial role in ecosystems, especially in pollination of both agricultural and wild vegetation. Through extensive field surveys and the examination of the National Zoological Collections, this book documents 52 species of Apoidea, detailing their habitat, floral associations, zoogeographic distribution, and conservation needs.
